Maidstone Hospital receive new modular Acute Medical Unit extension

ModuleCo Healthcare (MCH), together with our manufacturing partner, ModuleCo, have successfully completed the handover of a brand-new modular Acute Medical Unit at Maidstone Hospital in Kent. The facility consists of 30 modules and will provide 5 no. 4 bed bay wards, 2 no. single en-suite rooms, a 3-bay treatment room and general support accommodation associated with this type of facility.

Our fast track offsite construction meant that we were able to deliver the modules to site within just 19 weeks of receiving the order whilst managing and co ordinating the ground works for the project.

Upon completion our Managing Director Alan Wilson said, “The new modular facility will provide a relief to the current pressures put on both A&E as well as ambulatory care, in a new modern setting.”

“It’s always a great feeling to hand over a brand new facility to an NHS trust, it brings together all the meetings, planning, drawings, and proposals, allowing the trust to physically see the meticulous  detail that has gone into constructing this facility using our modern offsite construction methods within such a short timescale.”

“We have no doubt Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust will enjoy their new building, but more importantly it now complements the already high standard level of care provided to the local community with the highest standard of facility.”

The building has been supplied on a long-term basis as part of a Managed Services Agreement, procured through the NHS Shared Business Services Framework.
