ModuleCo Healthcare (MCH), together with our manufacturing partner, ModuleCo, have successfully secured a project for the supply of a Modular Acute Medical Unit extension at Maidstone Hospital in Kent. The facility consists of 30 modules and will provide 5 no. 4 bed bay wards, 2 no. single en-suite rooms, a 3-bay treatment room and general support accommodation associated with this type of facility.
Discussions on the project have been ongoing since May with the offsite construction commencing at our factory in early August. As part of the project ModuleCo have been undertaking the enabling works package and link facilities structure as well as design, factory assembly, delivery, installation and commissioning of the unit. The entire works package has been included in a single monthly rental, with the trust committing to an 8-year hire of the facility.
During recent weeks, the manufacture of the facility has been completed and the individual modules have been wrapped in preparation for transport. Installation on site will commence at the end of October, prior to the handover of the building taking place in December.
The trust will be hiring the facility as part of a long term hire under a Managed Services Agreement that was procured using the NHS Shared Business Services Framework.
