ModuleCo Healthcare adopts Bornean Orangutan from Chester Zoo

ModuleCo Healthcare is thrilled to announce it has adopted an animal from Chester Zoo, helping to contribute towards vital fundraising efforts for one of the North West’s best-loved and most famous attractions.

The MCH team opted for the Zoo’s Gold Animal Adoption Package and, after a group discussion, settled on adopting a Bornean Orangutan, one of the most intelligent species on the planet.

As many people will have seen in the past few weeks, Chester Zoo has been severely affected during the COVID-19 pandemic and has turned to the public for support as a result of being forced to close under government guidelines. Unfortunately, this closure has resulted in a period of significant financial hardship for the zoo and has left them struggling to continue to care for the animals, as well as fund their vital conservation work.

In recent weeks, Zoos all around the country have been able to reopen. However, allowing the public to return is just the beginning, and Chester Zoo is still in need of support to continue protecting the animals that live there.

MCH is very proud to be based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and Chester Zoo is a vital source of local tourism for the area. The team have enjoyed being a part of the fundraising initiative, involved with the adoption and visits are now planned from staff who live nearby, both to catch a glimpse of our new Orangutan and to support the valuable conservation work undertaken by the zoo.
