The major driver in the success of any project of a complex nature such as this, is the providers need to arrive at a thorough understanding of the end user’s needs, a process which requires discipline both on the part of the supplier and the client. The Trusts team led by the DSU manager and the lead consultant anaesthetist worked closely with ModuleCo Healthcare to achieve the design that worked for them.
The staff who were to be ultimately responsible for running each individual area in the facility were given the final say in the agreement of the content of individual rooms, giving the Trust the opportunity to achieve exactly the workflow they required to meet their needs.
Independent Facility
The trust needed to increase its capacity for elective surgery with additional theatres suitable for more complicated Arthroplasty that is equipped with 3.5m2 clean zone laminar flow canopies. Due to the trust wanting the facility to have associated recovery areas.
Financial Benefits
The trusts estates team demolished an old building, built foundations and delivered M & E services to the modular facility. Because of this and all the project related costs a capital purchase was not a viable solution. That’s where ModuleCo Healthcare worked with the financing team to provide a monthly hire rate that enabled the trust to receive a new Orthopaedic centre without the need to further request capital funds.
